2017 USODA Team Trials: The Optimist Dinghy Class in the United States has exceeded 3000 boats the largest in the U.S. and the world. Each year the United States Optimist Dinghy Association selects a premier sailing venue to host the best 200+ sailors from the country to compete to represent the US as member of one of the several teams that travel the world. These include the World Championships, the European Championships, the Asian Championships, and the British Nationals. This invitation only event, will bring 1000 guests including sailors, their coaches and families to Long Beach Island in May.
The Sponsorship Invitation: We invite you to become a sponsor of the USODA 2017 team trials. By becoming a sponsor, be assured you are supporting some of the best young people in the country who not only have aspirations of representing their country now, but will continue to sail in High School, College and perhaps someday represent their country at the Olympics. If you have a corporate connection it is your opportunity to brand your organization to a key demographic. Why Support Youth Sailing: The Optimist Sailboat is the largest and continues to be the fastest growing one-design youth sailing boat in the world. Unlike so many youth sports sailing is a life-long sport that leads to the development of autonomy, independent decision making and opens the door to the development of friends at the local, regional, national and inter-national level. It is a sport that engages the mind and body with the environment and the beauty of the water. The Venue: Brant Beach Yacht Club has become one of the preeminent small boat sailing venues in the United States. It has hosted in recent years the North American Laser Championships, The Club 420 North American Championships, the Sunfish World Championships and numerous national and regional championships. In 2011 it was named by US Sailing as the One-Design Club of the Year in recognition of its support for small boat sailing and competition. Located on seven blocks of bay front property with beach launch capability sailors have come to enjoy the ease of logistics, the hospitality and the close distance to the race course. Located on an 18-mile barrier reef island, Long Beach Island is a family oriented vacation destination. |
